About Jillian Forsberg
Author. Historian. Keeper of forgotten stories.

Writing the Past with Heart and Precision
Jillian Forsberg is an award-winning historical fiction author and trained public historian who brings overlooked corners of the past into vivid focus. Her novels center on women’s voices, animals, and untold histories — told with precision, empathy, and just enough bite.
Based in Wichita, Kansas, Jillian holds a Master’s degree in Public History from Wichita State University and a dual Bachelor’s in Communication and History from McPherson College. Her writing blends a scholar’s rigor with a novelist’s intuition, drawing from years of archival research, museum work, and storytelling.

A Historian by Training, a Storyteller by Nature
Jillian’s debut novel, The Rhino Keeper, earned her a place among the 2024 Kansas Notable Authors. Her second novel, The Porcelain Menagerie, released on October 21, 2025. Her third book is complete, and she’s currently working on her fourth and fifth novels.
She is represented by Jessica Berg at Rosecliff Literary, contributes regularly to Writer Unboxed, and leads the Manuscript Matchup beta reader program through History Through Fiction.
The Details That Matter
Outside of writing, Jillian is the owner of Dress Gallery — Kansas’s top-rated bridal store — and has worked in bridal fashion since 2007.
When not immersed in storytelling or fittings, she’s likely:
-
Browsing the nearest antique mall
-
Tending to her garden
-
Reading every label in a museum
-
Wearing a vintage dress (except when she’s at the zoo)
She lives in Wichita with her husband, child, and a crew of beloved pets.
