Academic Work

In graduate school at Wichita State University, I focused on public history and afterwards, worked in museums for years. My papers explore little-known stories in the American colonies, Caribbean, Civil War, and beyond. My preferred time period is the 18th century.

Journalism

An award-winning columnist, journalist, and copy editor at McPherson College, my articles  have been published in the Hillsboro Star-Journal and Splurge! Magazine. I was interviewed for the New York Times. Shown here is the 1st place column for the Kansas Collegiate Associate Press.
